Quito to Baños takes 3 hours and will cost you $3 – the Ecuador $1 per hour rule for bus journey’s still stands. Visit Baños if you like to get active. You can spend your time white water rafting, biking, hiking, canyoning and more. Baños became my first and admittedly last (probably ever) white water rafting experience.
I’d like to pretend that after arriving in Cusco I didn’t spend most of my days in bed dying of altitude sickness and feeling like I was going to die. But, most of my time in Cusco was spent throwing up from the confines of our hostel. From my altitude sickness experience I’m thankful for […]
The Cuban local/tourist relationship is a little unbalanced to say the least. In many areas of Havana and all over Cuba tourism is booming and the presence of tourism comes with its struggles. A fundamental part of travelling Cuba is avoiding the hustle. The harsh truth of the matter is that in Cuba, if you’re […]

A girls trip – summer in the city. Ryanair’s long list of unbeatable flight prices gave myself and my friends the freedom of choice over which city break we’d be taking. Germany was mentioned several times, great weather, culture and enough beer and clubs to keep us going. We settled for Düsseldorf knowing that Cologne […]

Now, I consider myself a budget savvy traveller and even when planning my Dublin city break I considered all the budget options. I’ve been to many European countries and always found I’ve been able […]
Country number 26 would be Bulgaria for me. Say hello to Sofia, a bargain £25 return flight from the UK to Sofia for a city break sealed the deal for us and we booked a weekend in Bulgaria’s capital city. I’d hoped for an overly autumn experience in a fun city similar to previous Euro […]
